Movie, The Cokeville Miracle, is one not to miss

A movie, The Cokeville Miracle, will play in select theatres beginning April 8, with full release on June 5. It will detail one of the most compelling stories of angels and miracles ever reported.

In the town of Cokesville, Wyoming one of the first school situations involving the need for law enforcement occurred. Children, faculty and staff were held in a classroom with a homemade bomb that ultimately exploded.

Stories soon emerged from the children who reported seeing angels who descended together out of the ceiling. The angels warned the children to get to the back of the room because the bomb, brought in by a crazed couple, was going to explode. Not known at the time this was a couple who had practiced exploding such bombs. They were heavily armed as well. It was a seemingly hopeless situation with an anticipated bad ending. There was no way out for the 153 individuals who had been herded into the one first grade classroom.

Why did the elementary children calm down after previously being upset and sickened by the smell of gasoline from the bomb? The bomb, though powerful enough to have destroyed the whole building and powerful enough to have killed all 153 hostages, malfunctioned. Part of the device failed to function properly although there was a partial explosion that turned everything and everyone black with soot. All survived the blast except for the hostage takers.

Some parents had multiple children present at the school that day. It takes more unbelief than belief to believe the details of this story. The testimonies from the children changed lives that day in 1986. Jamie King is one of those interviewed 25 years later in a video on YouTube and is still affected. Even skeptical parents who carefully questioned their children were in tears after hearing the stories from both their sons and daughters and other school children.

One child later identified her angel, not from images in books, but as her deceased grandmother whom she had never met because her grandmother died long before the child was born. Another student identified his deceased great grandmother as his guardian angel.

After all the children were accounted for, an image was found burned onto one wall of the classroom. It was the children who insisted it was where one of the angels stood. This story was first aired by the tv show, Unsolved Mysteries.

When we wish for a miracle, none comes. When we get one we fail to believe. Perhaps God is asking, what will it take for us humans to stop looking for explanations for everything and simply believe.
